Gray Matter Design created entertaining interactive games for major interactive-media companies. When the company decided to market the software they had created to other game developers, they needed a brand that was still recognizable, but allowed them to play on a much larger scale.

Our first action was changing the company’s name to g/matter, keeping the link to the original name but giving it a more modern

feel. Keeping the recognizable gray and green color scheme, we stylized the logo to make it more figurative, conveying intelligence rather than “brains!” Over the next two years, we helped g/matter expand its reach, developing a line strategy and identity for 10 new packaged software products, all matching the visual dynamic of the newly energized parent brand.
